Quiet and
reserved, Ensign S'hatar is the team's resident doctor/emotionally
unstable character. Torn apart by her Betazoid and Vulcan halves,
Beltana bravely assumes a studious and calm facade in public. In
private she spends a lot of time on the holodeck working out her
frustrations.
Season 2 Evaluation
Ensign Beltana S'hatar. Ensign S'hatar is too docile and reactive. In
the one leadership opportunity she had, albeit a holodeck scenario
only, she let the events sweep her along and let her command be taken
over by a subordinate. In missions, she does what she is told and
although she has some good ideas, she is poor in expressing them to the
mission commander. Ensign S'hatar is also too focused on medical
solutions to a problem, rather than trying to use all the skills and
resources at her disposal. At this juncture I cannot recommend that
Ensign S'hatar be given additional responsibilities. Mission commanders
should encourage her to exercise her initiative during missions.
Season 3 Evaluation
Ensign Beltana S'hatar. As said previously, Ensign S'hatar remains in
the background and lacks initiative. Only in the area of medicine does
she seem to come to life, but to succeed in Starfleet she will have to
assert herself in all areas and not just in the area she specializes
in. I'm afraid that she is not someone that mission commanders rely on
in critical situations.
