kcw | star trek: the next generation campaign

Ok, so I'm finally starting to work on Season 7 of my Star Trek campaign. It's grown from this one idea -- the characters wake up in a prison but they don't know how they got there or why they're there, and they don't even meet their captors until the next episode -- into a full season. Not necessarily all action packed. When I was outlining it a couple of episodes were sort of pointless from a "there's no real objective for the characters" perspective. But I think I now have some sort of objective for every episode. The next part is to knead the episodes into the three act format.

But before then, I listed the people that I want to appear this season. Mostly people who the characters have met before, sort of a reunion of sorts. Even a couple of people who couldn't possibly be there for real. And a few new NPCs. I couldn't include every memorable NPC since I only have six episodes to work with and a couple of those episodes are pretty much the PCs only. The NPCs are:

Katrina, Krystal's one time mortal-enemy and now at least if not a friend not an unfriend either, introduced in Episode 101. Lt Tom Paris, one time boyfriend of Krystal's and supposedly stuck in the Gamma Quadrant on Voyager, he was introduced in Episode 102. Captain Potrikos and Commander Papaub of the Discovery, who were introduced in episode 201. the two Star Fleet Intelligence agents that the PCs met in Episode 202, they were trying to root out any Romulan spies on the Discovery. Major Sela, long time nemesis of the PCs and Krystal in particular, she won their first encounter in Episode 204. Toora Delfi, Orion overlord of Bonus Run and who owes a favor to a Krystal and Gonar, he appeared in Episode 301.

Cat-Who-Yawns, former Kzinti Warlord and ally of the PCs, who they met in Episode 401. Lt Vorkal of the Klingon Empire, a minor scion of the Duras family who was the main villain of season 4 until he was disintegrated in the last episode, he was introduced in Episode 402. Telan Merek, introduced in Episode 601, is a distant relative of Senator Merek and is a friendly Romulan. The same can't be said for Dr Tolias, who appeared in Episode 602. He is one evil Romulan. Clancy II came over from a parallel universe and is now stuck here, not that he minds. He was introduced in Episode 604.

Senators Kassus and Merek have remained behind the scenes, using their agents Major Sela and Telan Merek instead. They will appear in Season 7. Senator Kassus is the principal villain and Senator Merek is the principal ally. Also for season 7 I will introduce Al'kan, Il'tar, and Il'demos, three Taurians who will interact with the characters extensive in the second half of the season. Now for the episodes.

Episode 701. Telan Merek enlists the PCs to help him get the cure to the Phyroxian plague back to Senator Merek. Senator Kassus does not want that since Merek is one of his staunchest opponents. But getting the cure himself would also be just as good since he would then be a hero to Merek's people.

Episode 702. Once the PCs succeed (no guarantee with my group), relations brighten between the Federation and Romulan Empire. This is good since the Federation is deep into the Dominion War. A Senatorial Ball is the perfect opportunity for the PCs to use diplomacy to advance the Federation cause. It's also a perfect opportunity for Kassus to learn about the Phyroxian Plague hybrid that the Evil Krystal created. Kassus captures the PCs and drugs them.

Episode 703. The PCs wake up in a village. The Village. A bunch of other people who don't know anything either. No visible jailers, just their many automatons and barriers that keep the villagers stuck in one small island. How did they get there? How will they get out? And once they get out they discover...

Episode 704. They're on the Taurian Homeworld! The Taurians have been studying the PCs, since they're not Romulans and yet they seem to be new Romulan allies. The Taurians are more friendly though, and try to convince the PCs that their cause is right. In return, the PCs have to convince the Taurians that they are "advanced" enough to not be considered a lesser race.

Episode 705. But the Taurians start becoming sick. Just when a combined Romulan, Federation, Klingon, and Kzinti fleet arrives on Taurus to end their "threat" once and for all. The characters are helpless to watch as a major space battle takes place. Still, they won't be too lonely themselves since Kassus has sent a squad of commandos to eliminate them before they reveal the truth.

Episode 706. Kassus captures the Taurian Planet Killers by taking over the control station. It's time for him to take the Empire and soon rule the Galaxy! It's up to the characters to get into the space station and destroy it before Kassus unleashes the most potent battle fleet ever.
