Theguis: "All
the Kings look the same too. Inbreeding, that's the problem."
Korvos: "So maybe I need to marry a Queen that doesn't look like that."
Turning to Theguis he asked "will you marry me."
Racius: "Hey!"
Theguis: "Hmm, let's find another solution."
Korvos: "Oh. Ok. You don't suppose that Morea looks like that, do you?"
Racius: "Hard to tell underneath a veil. You can always hope she's an
ugly toad."
Korvos: "I feel as if it's my destiny to marry that dark Queen."
Theguis: "Break the cycle. Just say 'no'."
Racius: "Well I could marry you. I don't look anything like the Queens."
King Korvos and Princess Theguis looked blankly at Racius.
Racius: "It's a jest!"
Theguis: "Of course, this all supposes that the curse is influenced by
the evil Queens, and not the other way around."
Racius: "True. You did order those executions without being married to
an evil Queen."

Korvos: "What?
I did not! I have no knowledge of this!"
Racius: "Then the madness has begun."
With that sad note, the trio decided to turn in for the night.
Chapter 7: Night Visitations
But before Korvos could go to his room, he had a hunch to play out.
Ripping out one of the portraits of the Queens of Korath, King Korvos
proceeded to pay a late night visit to the noble Ionus.
"I would have a word with you, Ionus," began Korvos.
"Yes my King?" replied the noble.
Korvos presented the portrait to Ionus. "Does this look like your
daughter?"
Ionus twitched a little, but he managed to remain calm. "Lord Korvos,
this picture looks nothing like my daughter."
Angered with the brazen lie, Korvos asked with a threatening tone,
"What should the punishment be for a treacherous noble who lies to his
King?"
Ionus flustered: "I, err..."
"Let me rephrase the original question," suggested Korvos, taking
another tack. "Are you claiming that this is not your daughter, or that
this does not look very similar to your daughter."
