Whitney Cummings: Jokes (2022) [/] One hour comedy act from her Newark, NJ performance. Sex with a younger man, sextortion and online privacy, kids and social media. It's raunchy and funny.
Manhunt (2024) [-] A drama mini-series about the hunt for Abraham Lincoln's assassin John Wilkes Booth (Anthony Boyle). Secretary of War Edwin Stanton (Tobias Menzies) is the main protagonist as he organizes the hunt while new president Andrew Johnson (Glenn Morshower) and the rest of the government wants to move on. Meanwhile you get lots of flashbacks to witness Lincoln (Hamish Linklater) when he was alive. I watched the first two of seven episodes and unfortunately it's rather boring.
Gamecraft (2023) [/] A limited series podcast about the video game industry business, although they did do a season 2 so we'll see if there are more. Video games veteran Mitch Lasky (development manager, producer, executive, then into venture capitalism) has been around a lot and has certain ideas of where the industry is moving to. I listened to the first three episodes and turns out the business of video games is not as interesting as I expected (but when Lasky tells anecdotes those are good). It's a polished podcast with lots of useful info I think.
Trader Joe's Blueberry Muffins [+] $5 for four regular-sized muffins. Moist and tasty. Half a muffin with a couple cups of coffee means it lasts a week and still fairly good at that time. Compares well with the Milano cookies I buy ($7.50 for 15 which lasts longer if I eat less).
Del Real Chile Verde [/] A 15-oz pack of pork chunks and chile verde sauce which you microwave for a few minutes and serve (there is a warning that internal temp must reach 165 degrees since pork can have parasites). I had it with brown rice and corn and it tastes fine. $13 retail is reasonable.
