Deadpool & Wolverine (2024) [+]

Deadpool & Wolverine is the third Deadpool movie and brings him and Wolverine (and by extension the X-Men) into the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) on his Earth used time travel to make sure nobody that he loved died and he has his friends and a boring job. Unfortunately Paradox (Matthew Macfadyen) takes him out of the time stream to recruit him. Paradox is a supervisor at the Time Variance Authority (from Loki series) and he says that Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) was the anchor of Deadpool's universe and now that he's dead his universe will die in a thousand years, except Paradox has a Ripper that will do it today which is much more efficient.

That out the way, Deadpool breaks out and looks for a Wolverine to be the new anchor and he finds one that is all mopey because his inaction let all the X-Men get killed by the government. Deadpool drags Wolverine along, fighting all the way, and they end up in the Void, the garbage dump planet (which is where we found out all the TVA derezzers send people to) and to get out of the Void they'll have to defeat Charles Xavier's psychotic twin Cassandra Nova (Emma Corrin). And after that they still have to stop the TVA from destroying Deadpool's universe...

This is a romp movie as the two principals go from place to place fighting various enemies and each other (which is a pretty cool fight). It's a very graphic movie though comic-book like so not very PTSD-inducing. Lots of sexual jokes and profanity. A good amount of 4th wall breaking. There are some surprise guest heroes in the Void portion and that was pretty cool.

Overall a very entertaining film but heavily R-rated.
