Ma Po Tofu Sauces

I bought four from two different brands. I tried these with olive oil and no meat and maybe adding pork would have helped a lot.

House Foods - Chinese Mabo Tofu Sauce, Mild and Medium Hot [/] - Heat oil, then empty packet (there is only 1 per box) then add cubed tofu. Tastes a bit like it's right. Medium Hot is barely spicy. This was the best of the three brands.

Lee Kum Kee Sauce for Mabo Tofu, Medium Hot [/] Same preparation as above though has a little less sauce though then again sauce is thicker so I guess balances out. Even less taste though.

Lee Kum Kee Spicy Bean Sauce (Ma Po Sauce) [/] This comes in a small bottle with I guess enough for a few meals. Also a thicker sauce like for the boxed version. Spicy? Not really. The flavor is a bit stronger though not sure I actually like it.

In the end I guess I'll stick with House Foods. They also made the tofu I used though that shouldn't matter. I don't think tofu differs enough it's best paired with the same brand sauce.
