I'm starting
to lose it. We went out to lunch and it was a two hour conversation in
Cantonese and I had nothing to do. Just sort of started getting this
headache and I desperately wanted to get away. Luckily, they dropped me
off at the house and then they went to Stanley Park. I got to spend
about an hour and a half on the Internet and that really calmed me
down. It's great being in touch with civilization, or at least people
you know. I was even able to VNC into Jennifer and tape a show (luckily
it was on Channel 7 which I get the clearest).
I think I mentioned that AOL charges extra in Canada, and I presume any
country that is not your native. Whatever the charge, it's well worth
it if you're on vacation abroad. AOL has dial-ins in a lot of countries
and it beats trying one of those ISP travel services or an Internet
Cafe. I guess we'll see how much it cost me.

The old folks
just finished singing Karaoke. It's not so much that it's painful to
listen to old songs, but it's so loud. Especially since they tend to
stay up late singing, it just makes it hard to get to sleep. Speaking
of which, eight hours of sleep isn't enough so I've been slowly getting
more and more tired as the week goes on. I had to take a short nap
today to refresh.
The only problem with the Finder's Find By Content is that it doesn't
seem to work. I looked for a search term ("xxx") and it didn't find all
the files, even after it recursed through all the files. Apple Help
suggests reindexing manually but I can see it reindexing when I run the
search. Hmm, it may be that "xxx" is not a good search term.
