Saturday I ran
issue #17 of my DC Heroes campaign. Spent about an hour and a half
developing the adventure, which was monstly subplots. Probably spent
another hour writing it up as a web page. I'm trying to streamline
adventure development because it takes so much of my time. With the
adventures I write I'm shooting for 2 hours including writeup. For
adventures based on modules I've cut down on the writeup but it's still
quite a bit longer.
Sunday I played poker at Rowe's. Not that I don't like poker, but I
hate doing stuff on Sundays. It's like my personal day where I can
catch up on things and be alone. But they needed a fifth person (hey, I
think you can play just fine with four people). Pick and Donald were
also there. It's not quite as fun anymore because people are getting to
the point where they're taking the game too seriously.

I guess it was
mostly Pick since the others play the way they've been playing. I
pretty much talk and show my cards and I do ok -- this time I came out
even. Pick seemed to be way too serious and was quiet and tried to play
poker the way poker should be played I suppose. Maybe because money is
involved (even though it's small amounts) people are different.
Of course it didn't help that Pick immediately switched on the 49'ers
game and started rooting for the other team. One of the reasons I
didn't want to play is that I wanted to watch that game but watching it
with Eric and Donald and Pick around is not fun. It's not like they
actually like the other team, they just want to see the 49'ers lose.
And that makes it not fun for me. Same thing with SF Giants games.
And yet, I still had fun and I would do it again.
