I'm now down
to 20 candidates which I'll be taking closer looks at. I'll be scoring
on poise/demeanor/personality/polish (style) and political outlook
(substance). Scores are zero-based.
Michael Jackson (Republican). 39-year old family man, Eletrical
Engineer graduated from UCLA, served in the US Navy for 10 years. Ok
web site, some errors and not terribly informative but not devoid of
information. Mostly Republican viewpoints, though only half of his
eight mission statements are written out (the rest are just outlines).
Other than ending illegal immigration, the other points are all
middle-of-the-road feel-good statements. Style +2, Substance +1.
Darryl L Mobley (Independent). Graduate of West Point and served in
Army Intelligence, family man. Somewhat garish web site with
over-emphasis on donating to his campaign. Basically Republican in his
California finances and business statements. The rest of his points he
still hasn't filled out at this late a date. Style +0, Substance +0.
Robert C Mannheim (Democrat). Approximately 57-year old graduate from
UCLA, Economic and Law degrees, family man, retired. Clean web site,
though I don't like that it occasionally spawns new windows and it is
kind of uneven at times. Now that I read it again, he says very little
and nothing remarkable. Style +0, Substance -1.

Frank A
Mancuso, Jr (Democrat). Approx 46 year-old medical doctor, family man
with a cute wife and three children (including a hawt daughter). Nice
web site. Primarily concerned with the state budget and health care.
Style +3, Substance +1.
Bob McClain (Independent). Civil Engineer and graduate of UC Berkeley
and UCLA. Clean web site. Mostly liberal politics, maybe a bit too
liberal. Style +3, Substance -1.
Carl A Mehr (Republican). 70-year old, Army veteran, married 48 years
with kids and grandchildren, Electrical Engineering degree. Web site is
ok, Java-based menu (why oh why?). Very Republican leanings, well
thought out arguments. Style -1, Substance +2.
Angelyne (Independent). Young busty blonde. Gaudy web site. Sadly, I
don't think she knows what she's doing, if she's being serious at all.
Style +0, Substance -2.
Iris Adam (Natural Law). A bit too organic and nature-y for me. Style
+0, Substance -1.
