Postfix is included in Mac OS X 10.3. Not that I know how to use it, but it's supposed to be more secure than Sendmail. Before the only instructions for postfix installation required two computers, which is not ideal. Hmm, looking at the man page, the Mac OS X 10.3 sendmail program is just a front end for postfix, so sendmail isn't included. That solves any lingering doubts about switching to postfix -- I do so not want to install new BSD layer server software.

We just had an election yesterday. I was only voting for one thing (via mail) and it passed: a New Haven School District Bond, 3671 to 1694 (68%, you need 2/3rds vote to pass a bond measure). Yeah! I'm increasing my property taxes by like $400 a year and I don't even have kids! It's a good thing and I'm happy it passed. I'm ok with local bond measures because taxes are increased specifically to pay for them. State bond measures are paid out from the General Fund which indirectly either leads to more taxes or budget cutbacks somewhere else.
I finished Act IV of Diablo II. Wasn't extremely tough though I did die a few times. For the most part as long as I'm not trapped I'm ok. My character is made to run and shoot, not stick and fight. Diablo himseld was not hard to kill. He has lots of fire attacks, including a Godzilla-like flame breath. But like typical video game big bosses, all you have to do is run around and ocassionally he stops and you can then shoot him. Eventually you kill him that way.

Halloween was uneventful. I left out a bunch of chocolate and it was all gone by the time I got home. Meanwhile I am almost out of meat in the freezer so I need to buy a lot today. I increased my grocery budget to $40 a week, since i use some of it to buy gamer food for when I'm hosting. Now I'm getting low on several things and I really need to catch up in the next couple of weeks before I start hosting again.
