RPGnet has been doing tower ads, which are ads at the right side of the page running down. Lots of people have complained, but I like it. Maybe I'm just weird but I have my web browser window at 800 pixels wide and the with the banner ad the rest of the page looks better. I think it's because it was a bit too wide before. Now it looks more correct and easier to read. People with 800 pixel wide monitors and complain about the banner ads because they take up too much page are idiots.

I know Shannon and Skotos (synonymous to RPGnetters since Shannon's the voice of Skotos) are trying to get enough of a revenue stream to make RPGnet self supporting. I'm waiting for some sort of donate option. I don't want to subscribe for extra privileges and I don't want to use the RPGnet store (because it'd be cheaper for me to donate and use an Internet store with better discounts).
Mac OS X 10.3 has a keyboard shortcuts feature (in the Keyboard and Mouse control panel). This allows you to assign or change keyboard shortcuts either in specific applications or globally for all applications. I tried to set BBEdit Lite's Save As... to have a shortcut (because it annoyingly doesn't have one) but it didn't take. TextEdit on the other hand I was able to change the Save As... shortcut. So I think that it only works for Cocoa applications, which makes sense, and not Carbon applications.

There's this program, Postfix Enabler ($10 shareware), that looks like an easy way to set up Postfix. You can also turn on the Mac OS X 10.3 pop3 server (I didn't even know there was a pop3 server included). I mean, it's probably not that hard to set up Postfix and pop3 but a nice GUI admin tool is convenient. I'll miss SSL pop3 (well, maybe not that much) but it beats having to install a separate pop3 server.
