Shoulder hurts. I think it's a bit of an RSI from using the mouse so much. It's been hurting a bit all day and then I came home and played Diablo for a three hours. So now it's just a slow burning sensation. Probably not good. So why am I typing this now?

Anyway, I did the Normal level Infernal Pit. Basically it was "go in, draw some monsters away, fight them, go in deeper and repeat". There were a couple of spots where my Amazon helper could shoot at the hordes of Treasure Maggots, Treasure Succubi, Treasure Worms, and Devil Spiders that were across the river. That helped a lot.

My duo is getting pretty good. I remember taking on the Infernal Pit a couple of weeks ago and getting stomped. Today I was even once sorrounded by Treasure Maggots, dozens of them. Luckily my Amazon was off to the side and firing unmolested so I just held out until she killed them all.

I picked up a couple of items. A bow for the Amazon. Does a little more damage but fires fire arrows and does extra fire damage compared to extra lightning damage. The Amazon is a cold Amazon so now she can do fire and cold attacks.

Also got Ghost Armor for the Amazon which seemed to make her invisible to the Treasure Maggots at least. The Treasure Succubi seemed to shoot her just fine, though I'm not sure. The Amazon now looks a bit translucent. It'd be nice if monsters didn't target her so she can fire unmolested. But then again she has more hit points than me and much better armor so drawing fire away from me is also nice.
For myself I found this cool War Mallet. Two handed that does 70-100 damage. Added a Shael rune to increase it's attack speed to Very Fast. My damage went up from 400-700 to 900-1700 with Vengeance on. It's cool doing that much damage, though when I use it I break up Milabrega's Set. The big effect is that my Lightning and Poison resistances go down. Defense and Hit Points also go down but only a little. I get more Magic Points.

I also found Van Gogh's Ear, which is a 1-space charm that gives you Prevent Monster Heal, which is useful. And I found a Death-something 2-space charm that granst Rest In Peace, which is nice against undead and goblins that resurrect. I think RIP also prevents Corpse Explosion, which can be annoying. Unfortunately this means that I only have like 12 space open in my inventory. Makes it tough to pick up items on the fly and tough to sell items from the Cube.

Oh, I did die once and then geared up with my extra items and fought things. I had the Horadic Staff and dropped it and then I couldn't pick it up. It's a bug we've run into before. I'll have to get the pieces again before Friday because I think I'm the only one that had a Horadic Staff ready.

Then again, all this success is in Normal level, though the extra-tough bonus levels of Normal. I still have the Cow Level and the Gauntlet to do. Gauntlet is probably just going to be very tedious and I'll die a lot (speaking of which, looking at the number of Town Scrolls I have left, I must have died about 60 times doing Kagero's Dungeon). Fulton and Woo said the first time through the Gauntlet is really tough.
