Today I spent mostly reading and watching DVDs and working on my web site. Woo called me at 15:00 asking for a ride from SFO airport when he arrived there at 21:15. No problem. You know when I have day to myself I don't get that much done. Sure I'm doing lots of little things but at the end of the day I keep thinking that I have all these other things I didn't do.

Partly it's because I procrastinate. Hmm, mostly it's because I procrastinate. If I give myself something that I have to do then I tend to put it off and do something else. It's one of those things that I keep trying to improve and yet I never seem to really get any better at doing.

After I picked Woo up we went to China Palace Restaurant which is a few stores away from Sweet's Singapore Noodles restaurant that he loves. We had prawns with scrambled eggs, salt and pepper fish bits, squid soup, and the complimentary soup. It's the "Anti Fulton Seafood Meal". It was great and this restaurant is so much better than the one that serves Singapore noodles. A lot more crowded too.

We talked about basketball which I sort of keep up for the Kings but not really. I really should try to pay more attention to the NBA so I can talk with Woo, give us some common ground. I tend to be so insular and Woo and I rarely talk mostly because we don't have that much in common I suspect. Or at least nothing in common we are both passionate about. You only need that one passionate topic to have a good conversation, otherwise it's a conversation full of nothing.
Also talked about the gaming group. People who need to run campaigns are Donald who I think has never run one in our group, Woo who needs to prepare better for his next campaign, and Sweet who I really need to support next time he runs. I tried to be supportive in Sweet's time travel campaign but I missed too many weeks and I really hate multiple GMs.

Woo is thinking of running some sort of modern day campaign, since that seems to be a niche we haven't really addressed. Some sort of modern day horror a la a video game rather than Cthulhu. The kind where hordes of undead are there to be killed, not to tear you apart and send you to gibbering madness. I suggested Deadlands: Hell on Earth which is kind of like a Western-style Gamma World with zombies. Woo unfortunately doesn't know what Gamma World is so I kind of explained it to him.

I mean, it's not as if there is any room in our gaming schedule for another game. Shannon is going to run Elric or something like that which I'm sure will have good plots though the system I'm not so sure about. Also in the day game Pick is going to run his pirate game hopefully using Rolemaster. Then at night we have my BattleTech game and Eric's d20 Middle Earth game.

I've probably said this before but in case I didn't there are a couple of things I don't like about the current day game. Most importantly I've come realize that I miss Sweet being there. Yes I hate his characters but I like him personally and it's kind of bland without him there. He's very enthusiastic. Also I've come to realize that I hate BRP, mostly because it has uneven character progression: characters who do stuff increase faster, characters who are better get to do more stuff. Characters left behind the curve get farther and farther behind, as I've realized all my BRP characters have done. It's subtle and I didn't notice it before, but it's really freaking annoying.
