Here
we see one half of the game/parlor room. On the right there is a sunken
area with nice leather couches. Each tour group consists of about 25
people.
Think about 25 people walking through a room with the next group about
a minute
behind you and you can imagine the urge I had to take pictures quickly;
the tough
part being getting a clear shot without people blocking you. Here's a
secret:
you can take your time taking the tour. When you're done you just take
the next
bus, the attendants there aren't trying to keep groups together. [Full]
Here's
my brother Christopher taking a look at a board and I forgot what it
said.
For the main mansion tour the tourists are given headsets and tape
recorders so
that they can listen to the self-paced narrator. Cheaper than having a
knowledgeable
tour guide. Behind Chris you can see Vernon's office. I think Vernon
was Presley's
manager or something like that. Not very interesting so no pictures of
the inside. [Full]

There
looks to
be extensive fields outside for horses. Didn't see any horses
but I guess Elvis liked the horseys. On the lower left you can see part
of the
chainlinks used to channel people. The organization has had decades to
fine tune
the place and it looks good and the tourists are well managed to keep
them from
trampling the place to bits. [Full]
The
next section is the Trophy Room. Lots of glass cases with old
pictures, costumes,
awards, various memorabilia. This particular corridor has both walls
filled with
sales awards for having records go silver, gold, and platinum. The
awards all look
pretty much the same, they just have different inscriptions on them. [Full]
This
is the last room in the mansion. High ceilinged, with two walls
covered
with all these plaques. A television shows a 3-minute short, and I
forgot what
it was about. Some sort of tribute to Elvis. [Full]
