Teaser
Loretta (Nancy Allison Wolfe) is a single lesbian looking for the one,
which she meets in the form of Rachel (Liza D'Agostino). But will her
insecurities doom the relationship when a third woman, JR (Camila
Griggs), enters the scene and makes a play for Rachel?
Movie
"Bar Girls" is nicely filmed for an independent film. Unfortunately the
story is unremarkable, the dialog is uninspiring, and the whole film is
quite boring. The problem I have here is that I didn't particularly
like any of the characters other than maybe Veronica (Justine Slater),
a married woman who wants to try the lesbian life.

But everybody
is one-dimensional and for the most part it doesn't look
like the actors are enjoying the filming process. This is not so much a
love story as it is a relationship story and a story about dealing with
your insecurities. Nothing wrong with the concept nor the message, the
execution is just bland. Maybe a commentary track or featurette would
have helped -- if I could only understand what the director and writer
were trying to do.
Actors
Nobody really stood out.
DVD
Wide screen format and a trailer are all that's on the DVD.
Recommendations
Don't watch this movie, though I will admit that there are some people
that might like this movie. |
