Snakes Land on Harrow's Sun

Harrow's Sun, Draconis March, Federated Suns

Four Kuritan Battlemech regiments landed on Harrow's Sun two weeks ago. The Rats had spread rumors that the defenders of Harrow's Sun had been rotated out with no replacements, leaving the planet open to attack. Meanwhile the Rats had secretly shipped in the 7th Crucis Lancers and the 9th Ceti Hussars to trap any raiding force coming their way.

They must have been surprised to see four elite regiments drop in to their party. Word is that the Rats are running scared into the mountains while the Snakes munch on yummy rat stew. Another example of the dubious parentage of a certain Fox.

Redjack Ryan Strikes Again

Winfield, Trellshire, Lyran Commonwealth

Word has it that Redjack Ryan raided Winfield early this month. Protec- ting Winfield is Winfield's Brigade, who were unable to stop Ryan. Ryan reportedly sacked a supply dump and got away with some mechs and a generous helping of spare parts. Rumor has it that Leutnant-Colonel Davis Winfield was too busy drinking at the local bar to organize a defense.

This is Redjack Ryan's third consecutive raid. He will probably have to return to Butte Hold soon for rest and refit. When asked, Redjack said that he wants to go to Tharkad to give Melissa Steiner a late birthday present.

So even with the fighting in the Kessel Prefecture, the DCMS may start a campaign against the Federated Suns. If they do so, we worry that the Lyran Commonwealth will succeed and capture some worlds of the Combine.

Jumpship Manufacturing Center Found in Star's End

Star's End, Independent World, Periphery

It seems that the Belt Pirates have found a jumpship manufacturing center in the Star's End system. Naturally, this is a bit hard to believe, but Morgan Fletcher isn't saying anything so maybe it's a little true. Nearby pirates such as Redjack Ryan or Hendrik Grimm may try to take it away from Morgan. That'll pretty hard since Morgan and her band have been living there forever and they're well entrenched.

History: The Oberon Confederation

Round about two score years ago, Colonel Hendrik Grimm and the 65th Lyran Regulars conducted a diversionary raid on Graham IV in the Schizoid League. The raid went badly and the unit had to retreat after being mauled badly. Ol' Hendrik blamed the Lyrans for leaving him to die. So he raided a couple of worlds and left for the Periphery.

The Confederation has almost a dozen worlds near the Lyran/Snake border. Hendrik III has changed the primary economy away from piracy. The Confede- ration is almost self sufficient and provides security and raiding forces for other worlds.
