Federated Suns Invades Galedon District

Delacruz, Kaznejov Prefecture, Draconis Combine

The Davion raids started six weeks ago. The worlds of Huan, Capra, Weisau, and Valentina where each "invaded" by up to five regiments of mechs and conventional forces. In each occassion relief forces were dispatched by nearby garrisons only to see the "invaders" put up a token resistance and depart.

Finally, a force invaded Delacruz and this time it seemed like the real invasion. Thinking that this was the real invasion, excessive reinforcements were shuttled to Delacruz. The real fighting started three weeks ago and the Davion forces were suffering severe setbacks.

Now word has arrived that Huan, Capra, Weisau, and Valentina have all been simultaneously invaded by large Davion forces. The defenders are undermanned since most of the reserves were sent to Delacruz. Simultaneous raids on An Ting and Kaznejov have stalled reinforcements from the interior.

Outworlds Alliance Declares Itself Neutral

Alpheratz, Outworlds Alliance, Spindrift Periphery

In a statement delivered two weeks ago, President Neil Avellar II of the Outworlds Alliance declared his state neutral in the present hostilities between the Federated Suns and the Draconis Combine. President Avellar said that he formally protested the invasion to the Federated Suns government. He went on to say that Federated Suns peacekeeper units have been asked to depart from the Outworlds Alliance immediately.

The Outworlds Alliance and the Federated Suns signed a Trade Treaty last year. Part of the treaty called for Federated Suns troops to help defend the Outworlds Alliance from nearby pirates. The Alliance Military Command is short of troops and equipment. The peacekeeping troops have helped reduced the incidence of pirate activity against Alliance worlds.

Dixie Dawn Disappears

Harvest, Kirchback Prefecture, Draconis Combine

The Merchant Jumpship Dixie Dawn misjumped last week and is presumed lost. The Dixie Dawn was carrying two cargo dropships filled with foodstuff bound for the Combine interior. She jumped out but has not been heard from in the intervening week.

It is not Combine policy to search uninhabited star systems in the slight chance that the jumpship might have successfully jumped to one of them. It is much more probable that the ship misjumped into empty space light years from the nearest star. Or the ship could have jumped into nothingness.

Coordinators of the Combine: Siriwan McAllister-Kurita

Siriwan McAllister-Kurita was the first - and one of the very few - female Coordinators of the Draconis Combine. She was also the only Coordinator to serve three times. Siriwan was born in 2496 to Martin McAllister and Illiyana Sorenson.

She became Coordinator in 2515 when her father was assassinated. At first the nobles of the Combine did not want a female Coordinator. As a result, she married Warren Kurita in May, 2515.

Their son, Hehiro, was born in February 2516. The next year Warren died of a mysterious illness. Siriwan stepped in as Regent and Coordinator until her son became of age.

Siriwan did not step down until Hehiro was 40. But she remained as a close advisor to her son until he died in 2591. Hehiro's son, Leonard, became Coordinator and ruled until he died in 2605.

Siriwan once again stepped in as Coordinator and ruled two more years until she was forced to retire in 2607. She chosed Sanethia Kurita as her successor and continued to influnce Combine policy until her death in 2632.
