Stephen Davion Named Commander of 1st Davion Guards
New Avalon, Crucis March, Federated Suns
Prince Hanse Davion has promoted Stephen Davion to the
rank of Marshal and
commander of the 1st Davion Guards Regimental Combat Team on New
Avalon. Stephen
is recognized as an exceptional leader and tactician. Critics point to
his
streaks of violence, especially against defeated enemies. It is rumored
that
the Prince wants Stephen to seek psychiatric help on this matter.
Stephen Davion is the Duke of Bristol and a descendant
of the Ducrimmon-
Davions which split from the main Davion line at the end of the Second
Succession
War. The family line had been reduced to poverty due to bad financial
management.
Eventually, the other Davions discovered this lost line and helped them
recover
their estates.
1st Davion Guards Raid Ares
Ares, Capella Commonality, Capellan Confederation
The 1st Davion Guards RCT raided Ares and destroyed
major portions of the
Battlemech production facilities located there. The raid is a response
to the
Capellan raids of the last few months. The 1st Davion Guards traveled
from
New Avalon on a command circuit and made the trip in one week instead
of a month.
The Guards new commander, Marshal Stephen Davion, had
them pursue the Ares
defenders and annihilate them. They then attacked the Battlemech
factories and
destroyed most of them, doing significant collateral damage to the
sorrounding
civilian structures. Finished with their mission, the 1st Davion Guards
are
currently on their way back to New Avalon.

Taurian Corcodant Invades Capellan Confederation
Larsha, Sian Commonality, Capellan Confederation
Elements of the Concordant Jaegers and the Red
Chasseurs landed last
week and engaged the garrison on Larsha. The 2nd Battalion of the 5th
Confederation Reserve Cavalry has fought the invaders to a standstill
on
the Western Continent. Taurian conventional troops have occupied the
Southern
Continent. Other Taurian forces have landed on Ward, Hurik, and Rollis.
The few defenders in each of those worlds have gone underground or been
destroyed.
The attacks come as a surprise to the Capellan
government. Although
relations with the Taurian Concordant are almost nonexistant, they
believed
that the Taurians were content to stay on their side of the border. The
Taurians claim that they are conducting a preemptive strike on worlds
that
are being used as staging bases for an invasion of Concordant space.
Religions: The Unfinished Book
In 2955, Prince Peter Davion granted Father Jasper
Ovidon permission to
create a council of religious leaders with the goal of promoting good
will
between the various faiths. The Federated Inter-Faith Congress was
created in
2956 with Father Ovidon as its first Chairman Elder.
The First Unfinished Book was published in 2962. The
Book consists of ten
large volumes containing the holy words of many religions. The Book is
called
Unfinished because there is much spiritual wisdom yet to be discovered.
The Unfinished Book movement has grown rapidly since
then. Its members come
from every other faith and includes some agnostics. In fact, Prince
Hanse Davion
swore the oath of office at his coronation on a copy of the Unfinished
Book.
The binding belief is that true harmony will come when all of the
spiritual
wisdom is written in one volume.
