Hunters from all over Altair have converged on Tarawa
Outpost
to participate in the quadrennial Gecko Hunt. The Altarian Gecko,
which is a prized trophy animal, is protected by Altarian law,
except during the Hunt. Seven hunters died in the last hunt.
Factory Explosion Shakes Bonanza

Factory 6 of the Long Life Company was engulfed in
flames as
from the results of an early morning explosion. The damage was
contained to the four square blocks of the factory. No cause for
the explosion has been determined at this time. Some fifty people
are still missing.

Second Galahad Games Announced

Officials of the Federated Suns announced that the
Second
Galahad Games will start next month. The wargames will simulate
an invasion of the Draconis March by the Draconis Combine. Unlike
last year's games, which were conducted to familiarize each
military with the other's tactics, these year's games will stress
cooperation between Steiner and Davion units.

Protests have started throughout the Capellan March at
the
announcement of the Galahad Games. Duke Michael Hasek-Davion has
publicly condemned the games as a waste of funds that could be
better spent to defend the March from House Liao. The Duke is
next in line of succession to the Princeship of the Federated
Suns.
