Davion Launches Second Wave

All regiments of the Crucis Lancers invaded Tikonov earlier this
month -- all told eight Regimental Combat Teams -- as House
Davion launched a second wave of their invasion of the Capellan
Confederation. Another nine worlds have been invaded by the AFFS,
in many cases catching the defenders by surprise.
"I'm calling upon you to find that reserve of strength and
continue the war against House Liao," said Prince Hanse Davion
in a prepared speech broadcast to the troops of the second wave.
"We must continue to press the attack. Now. While the Capellans
are still reeling. I know you will all make the Federated Suns
proud."
On Tikonov, Colonel Pavel Ridzik -- Strategic Military Director
of the Confederation -- is personally leading the defense of
Tikonov, his home planet. The huge BattleMech factories of
EarthWerks are another reason that this is a vital planet.
Correspondingly, there are six Mech regiments and eighty other
regiments defending the planet, so the Crucis Lancers are in
for a tough fight.
Liao Steps Up Cataphract Production

The BattleMech factories of Sian have started mass production of
the new Cataphract Heavy BattleMech, which will form the backbone
of its elite units. With the deteriorating situation in the
Tikonov Commality, the new Mech will help bolster the under-
equipped Capellan forces fighting the AFFS.
"The Cataphract is a fast, well armed and armored Mech capable
of taking on any Mech in the Davion arsenal," explained Dutch
Reynolds of the Capellan Information Bureau. "This is the Mech
that will give our forces the tool to retake the worlds lost
to House Davion in the last few months."
Prototypes of the Cataphract have appeared in the occassional
Liao unit over the last few years. The Mech has been impressive
in field trials and in real combat situations. The new Mechs
come at a fortuitous time as the Federated Suns launches a
new offensive which threatens to tear the Confederation in half.

Marik Launches Limited Offensive

Responding to demands by the Draconis Combine, House Marik has
launched an attack on a few worlds in the Lyran Commonwalth. On
the world of Wyatt, the Fifth Regulan Hussars and the Twenty-
Fifth Marik Militia were dealt several sharp defeats at the
hands of the Seventeenth Arturan Guards and the Eleventh Lyran
Guards stationed on the planet.
"It's a rather half-hearted attack," commented General Edward
Regis, commander of the LCAF. "In addition to his own Marik
Commonwealth, Janos Marik only has the support of two of the
three major realms in the Free Worlds. Without the support of
of Andurien and its satellites, Janos won't be able to launch
any sort of major offensive against us."
Rumors are that Marik troops have appeared in several Capellan
systems near Terra. Whether these troops are there to bolster the
Capellan worlds or annex them remains to be seen. There has been
no official word from either government on the purpose of these
new troops.
Altair Sends Aid to New NEDA Member

Duchess Selena Kyle has dispatched a reinforced company of Royal
Mechs to aid NEDA's newest member, the planet of Sirius in the
Capellan Confederation. Sir Wrigley himself will lead the
expeditionary force to relieve the beleaguered defenders of
Sirius, who have been attacked by Marik forces.
"My homeworld has been invaded," said Major Wrigley before
departing with the Altairan Expeditionary Force. "There is no
way that I could stand back and watch my homeland conquered by
the Marik swine."
Although Altair has not yet been attacked in this war, it is
well defended by the 18th Dieron Regulars, as well as the Royal
Mech forces and 1st Armored Cavalry.
