The plains north of Fort McMichael is the battle ravaged landscape of destroyed Mechs and vehicles. Here lies the First Battalion of the Third Chesterson Voltigeurs, who were sent to destroy the Davion supply dump housed in Fort McMichael. But the expected light Davion garrison force turned out to be a battalion of the Davion Heavy Guards, who quickly demolished the lighter Voltigeurs.

Operation Riposte has ended in a dismal failure for the Capellan Confederation. The unguarded supply caches destined to supply the next Davion Assault turned out to be an elaborate ruse set up by Davion Intelligence. All told, almost three Mech regiments and a half-dozen conventional regiments were detroyed or captured by the AFFS.

Explosion Claims Pavel Ridzik

Last night, a massive explosion demolished the Black Sea Restaurant in downtown Elgin City. Among the victims is Colonel Pavel Ridzik, Duke of Thomas and Strategic Military Director of the Capellan Confederation. Colonel Ridzik had been enjoying dinner with an unnamed female companion when the explosion took place.

Already, blame has fallen mostly on the Federated Suns. "Without the Colonel the [Tikonov] Commonality has no chance against the AFFS," explained Ridzik's aide, Lieutenant Anton Chernov. "I have no doubt that this is the work of Davion assassins, the treacherous dogs!"

Duke Michael Hasek-Davion Ill

Draconis March officials today confirmed that Duke Michael Hasek-Davion has been deathly ill these past few weeks. The Duke has not taken any visitors, seeing only his personal physician and closest advisors. Marie Davion has cancelled all her appearances to be with her husband.

"Although grievously ill, the Duke is still running the Draconis March," remarked Dean Marke of the New Syrtis News Service. "With the continuing war, Duke Michael has no time to recuperate and continues to set an example for the rest of the March."

Duke Wrigley and the last of the Sirius Defense Forces cling tenaciously to Castle Worm, nestled protectively over the capital of Yahoo. They have held out for almost two months against the Defenders of Andurien, who occupy the rest of the planet.

Duke Wrigley has advised the citizens of Sirius not to openly resist the invaders. "War is the province of the warriors," explained the Duke. "I do not want our brave citizens to die needlessly. We, your protectors, will triumph over the invaders."

In other news, a relief force from NEDA was shot down over the sparsely populated Southern Continent. It is unknown at this time if there are any survivors, although Andurien forces on that continent have been put on alert.
