In an early morning press conference broadcast throughout the
Federated Suns, First Prince Hanse Davion announced that Duke
Michael Hasek-Davion was murdered at the hands of Maximilian
Liao.
"I take full responsibility for Michael's death," explained the
Prince. "Concerned about the safety of the Capellan March, Duke
Michael traveled to Sian to negotiate a settlement with
Chancellor Liao. Obviously, things didn't turn out for the best."
"I blame myself because I did not attend fully to Michael's
concerns about the safety of the Capellan March. His death is a
tragedy. There will be a reckoning."
Pavel Ridzik Forms Tikonov Free Republic

Tikonov Free Republic
Pavel Ridzik, who many believed dead from a Davion assassination,
returned to Elgin with momentous news. In a public speech given
to the people of Elgin City, Supreme Lord Pavel Ridzik announced
the formation of the Tikonov Free Republic.
"My people. My friends. It was not the Davions who tried to
assassinate me, but Chancellor Liao. I do not know why he chose
to take this action, an action that killed dozens of people of
this city. Because of this, and the attacks from the Free Worlds
League, I believe it is time for us to take control of our own
destiny. So, to better protect the people of Tikonov, I have
formed a new nation. The Tikonov Free Republic."

Although Operation Riposte ended in the destruction of the
participating Capellan units, it did succeed in disrupting
the Davion juggernaut threatening to engulf the Capellan
Confederation. The Federated Suns has been content to hold
and consolidate their gains these last three months, time
that the Capellan Armed Forces have used to fortify border
worlds and other important worlds, such as Sarna.

The First and Second Battalions of the 18th Dieron Regulars
have been ordered to the nearby worlds of Yorii and Asta in
anticipation of another Lyran push. This, combined with the

of Altair solely in the hands of the Royal Guard.
