A unit of the Lyran mercenary Kell Hounds raided the world of Nashira late last month. Nashira is not close to the Lyran front line, although it is within striking distance of the Federated Suns. A Combine supply depot was destroyed in the raid.

"Rather unusual to send a valued mercenary unit deep behind enemy lines just to hit a supply depot," commented military analyst Rysh Ulstov. "More likely it was some sort of secret base that neither side wants to admit to."

ComStar Recognizes Tikonov Free Republic

Primus Julien Tiepolo, head of ComStar, officially announced ComStar's recognition of the newly formed Tikonov Free Republic. "The people of Tikonov have decided to chart their own future, and ComStar will support their right for self- sovereignty." Meanwhile, there are reports of clashes between TKR forces and Capellan Loyalists on some worlds of the Republic.

New Freedom Nears Completion

The city of New Freedom nears completion on the world of Lyons. New Freedom will be the home of a community of Kuritan political dissidents who have left the Draconis Combine for the freedoms of the Lyran Commonwealth. A detachment of Kell Hounds is helping to build the city, which will have taken less than two months to complete.

Capellan Commandos captured scientists and research material from an AFFS research base on Bethel. Davion units who engaged the raiders identified the Capellan leader as Justin Xiang, head of the Capellan Maskirovka. The AFFS has not yet released information on just what was stolen from the base.
