Even the citizens living at the capital of the Lyran Commonwealth,
the richest and most prosperous Inner Sphere state, have felt the
effects of the 4th Succession War. Throughout the Commonwealth, a
rising tide of anti-war sentiment has slowly taken hold among the
war-weary people. Fueling the movement are the inconclusive results
on both fronts, which has drained the Commonwealth treasury without
any substantial results to show for the effort.
There is hope of a forseeable end to this war, as the LCAF has not
launched any new offensives in the last couple of months. Our armed
forces have wisely decided to consolidate their meager gains. The
fact that neither the Draconis Combine nor the Free Worlds League
have taken this opportunity to launch their own attacks also fuels
the peace movement.

Capellan Confederation
Last month's raid on the capital of the Capellan Confederation was
not an assassination attempt on Chancellor Maximilian Liao, as was
first suspected. Instead, the bold raid on the Celestial Palace
retrieved two deep cover Davion agents. The names of both agents
have not been disclosed, although they are said to have been highly
placed members in the Capellan Maskirovka.

The daring
raid, led by Major Morgan Hasek-Davion, also managed to
capture Duchess Candace Liao, eldest daughter of the Chancellor.
Davion sources have assured us that the Duchess is perfectly safe
and will be treated according to her station.
TFR Negotiates Peace With Marik

The Tikonov Free Republic government has negotiated an end to the
hostilities between their nation and the Free Worlds League. Terms
of the peace include the TFR giving back several planets that they
captured from the FWL, but surprisingly, not all of the captured
planets will be returned. Experts question the lack of determination
by Captain-General Janos Marik, who has once again secluded himself
away in his castle on Atreus.

After more than a year of almost continuous fighting, the vendetta
between Wolf's Dragoons and the Draconis Combine ended in a climatic
battle in Tartarus Caldera on the planet Crossing. For two months,
a regiment of Dragoons faced off against four regiments of Galedon
Regulars. With defeat staring the Dragoons straight on, a last minute
cavalry charge by the 10th Deneb Light Cavalry and the Dragoon's
Zeta Battalion, fresh from Robinson after 6 months of refitting,
smashed the Galedon regiments and broke their backs. The crushing
defeat left almost two regiments of Galedon Mechs on the field, with
the remaining Kuritans retreating off-planet.
