Summary
Izzy puts metal debris on the mechs to make them look spiky. Wrigley
and Selena
go to a party sponsored by Thomas DeLon. They get an appointment with
him in two
weeks. Everybody is in an arena battle vs. 6 mechs with avg. Reputation
of 1.
Izzy's mech goes down by points, Roger takes minor damage. Other guys
lose 4
mechs, no damage to rest. They give up; team gets 300000 C-bills.
Wrigley and
Selena go to interview where they suitably impress DeLon who hires the
team at
standard wages. Roy goes to a bar and has fun. Izzy goes to Purple
Panther's bar
and brags to their techs about the team's spiky mechs. Roger tours the
city.
Clyde enters a BattleMech Center tournament and loses spectacularly in
the first
round.

The Blowfish - 3020.06 - #0006 - Solaris
Summary
A representative from the Majestrix of Canopus visits Selena. She
offers a
garrison contract for the group. Standard one year, not high pay. Izzy
hires a
photographer for a month to follow Selena and take pictures for a
calendar.
Izzy buys a dozen bikinis for Selena to wear but she refuses. Clyde
enters another
BattleMech center tourney and loses in the first round.
Jeff, current head tech of the Purple Panthers, comes to Izzy for
advice. He
has gotten information on a cache of Star League tech. The proof is in
some plans
for an advanced heat sink. Izzy verifies that the plans look authentic.
Izzy
suggests he go along along with some buds to make sure it's not a trap.
The
group heads off about 1 day away by mech travel. They see some
badlanders in dune
buggies but are not attacked. On reaching the research center, they
discover
that it is open. They go in and get to the control room. Wrigley
proceeds to try
to heck the system and locks out nine terminals. They get some station
info. Then
they try to access the mainframes. They discover that the station
alarms have
gone off and they have only 30 minutes left before the auto defenses
kick in. They
grab four double heat sinks. Meanwhile, Clyde was guarding outside and
he was
attacked by four dune buggies. He destroys three and takes trivial
damage. The
group keeps three and Jeff takes one.
Thomas DeLon has a job for the group. His cousin, a duke in the
Draconis Combine,
is having some pirate troubles. The group will join some House troops
to track
the bandits to their base and destroy them. High pay, high risk, they
keep all
salvage, integrated command. They accept. But first, an arena fight...
