The Blowfish - 3020.09 - #0009 - Butte Hold

Summary

Wrigley decides to install a bar in his cramped quarters.

The unit remains on Butte Hold. The captured Hunchback Mechwarrior, Maya, is hired to lead them on a commando raid to steal some mechs. Izzy, Selena, Wrigley, and Roger will go to pilot the mechs. Their raid will cover a secondary raid to infiltrate the main computer system to get some information on the Oberon Confederation, who may be behind the increased bandit raids.

The group gets to the mech bunker and shoots their way in. Using a codebreaker, they start a Shadow Hawk which Selena pilots. They also just finish breaking the codes on a Griffin when a security patrol arrives. Selena fights off a light lance while Roger in the Griffin struggles to start the mech. They fight for a bit but they don't do well since the pilots were wounded getting into the complex. Eventually they retreat. Maya is with Selena. Izzy and Wrigley try to get away on foot but Izzy is rounded up by the authorities.

Summary

Clyde decides to ransom Izzy for 100 000 C-bills.

Mission: to detroy the second tank company protecting the biggest Butte Hold city. Clyde, Izzy, Roy, Wrigley, and Selena will be sent in with a lance of hovertanks to support them. The expedition will fake an attack on another city and provoke a strike from the city tank company. The players will ambush the tanks and destroy them. Clyde will take the spare Griffin.

They set up but unfortunately the tanks spot Clyde. The fight quickly turns into a wild melee. Wrigley and Selena strike kind of late. Izzy barely manages to eject as his mech's head is crushed by an AC/10 shot. Roy takes 60+ damage but still remains standing. Three support hover tanks are taken out. The enemy loses nine of twelve tanks.

Wrigley starts making some money from his bar. Izzy and Maya get cozy.
