Summary

Selena decides to check out the ruins in the nearby radiation zone. Sir Wrigley, Izzy, Roy, and Maya decide to tag along. Sir Wrigley gets his 'Mech's gyro fixed. They buy four hostile environment suits. They head out and eventually reach a relatively intact military administration center.

Selena, Sir Wrigley, Izzy and Roy get out to search the building. Maya stands guard in her Hunchback. The four go in and look around. They are attacked by 12 monkey men wielding clubs. After a short and furious firefight, all 12 monkey men are disabled. All four took some damage. Selena kills any unconscious monkey men. Izzy and Roy have to go back because their HE suits are no longer working.

Selena and Sir Wrigley find a documents room and search it. Sir Wrigley finds some documents which show locations of 5 nearby military research stations. Everybody gets back in their 'Mechs when suddenly they see an assault lance approaching them with weapons powered on. The lance consists of a Rifleman, two Goliaths, and a Banshee. Roy runs away and Selena decides to retreat the rest of the lance.

Back at base they try to find out who was trying to attack them. The enemy 'Mechs had the markings of Wilson's Hussars although heavier than what the Hussars are reported to have. The Hussars are currently under the employ of Duke Muirvald Cooke of Altair.

They also research information on the 5 research stations and find that two do not seem to be currently in use. (Halstead Station, Galtor III).

Styx Mining hires the group for a security mission. The company buys out the rest of their contract and the group leaves for Styx, 2 jumps away.
