Summary
The unit stops over on Irian. Sir Wrigley hires a Regular MechWarrior
for
Selena's lance. Selena works on improving her Tech/Mech. Selena and
Clyde
look for a Marauder for Roy. Irian BattleMechs Unlimited has a job for
them.
One of the company's experimental OGR-1E artificial intelligence mass
destruction landships went rogue a few months ago. The 3500 ton machine
hides
out in the ocean, but it comes to land every few weeks to attack New
Kyoto.
The Blowfish's mission is to stop the monster before it strikes again.
The
second part of the mission is to field test some 'Mech variants the
boys in
the lab have cooked up. A MAD-3M Marauder, a OSR-2M Ostroc, a HER-2M
Hermes II,
and a LCT-1M Locust. The unit can keep the 'Mechs after they've tested
them
for a few months and reported back to IBU.
Due to the monster's uncanny instincts, only a small group of 'Mechs
has a
chance of sneaking up to it. Selena leads Wrigley, Clyde, Izzy, and
Roger to
hunt the creature. They find it on one of its forays to attack New
Kyoto. The
'fish attack mercilessly. Wrigley and Selena manage to talk to the
creature,
who only wants to swim but the pollution from New Kyoto is destroying
his
ocean home. As the fight rages Selena convinces it to give up and talk
to the
IBU techs. By then Roger's Griffin is a piece of molten slag.
