Always cranky, constantly complaining, never one to accept anything "as-is", Ensign Gonar is a methodical engineer who'd rather be out there fixing things when others would argue about a solution. Specializing in warp field engineering he is justly famous for his ability to create any sort of energy containment unit out of a bundle of wires, a few scraps of metal, spit and a heaping of elbow grease.

Season 2 Evaluation

Ensign Gonar. Unusual for a Tellarite, Ensign Gonar is rather quiet and quite unassuming. An exceptional engineer, Gonar is a dependable subordinate who does what he's told and to exacting Tellarite standards. Unfortunately, he seems to lack leadership instinct. In his one mission command he let events unfold and refused to take decisive action. Gonar interfaces well with other species and peoples and for the most part upholds Starfleet principles. I recommend that he be given more low intensity mission commands so that he can get used to leadership.

Season 3 Evaluation

Ensign Gonar. Although having the rugged handsomeness and magnetic charm of all Tellarites, Ensign Gonar refuses to leverage his natural endowments and crowd his subordinates. When in command, Gonar is unassuming and lets his men voice their opinions in an open environment, free of criticism. Gonar inspires an intense loyalty from his fellow engineers and I will promote him to department head of the engineering section.
