Recap

So today I ran a very long Star Trek episode. Since Dave wasn't running this was a good time for another long episode, although I had done a long episode the last time I ran three weeks ago. In keeping with my aim to not have an episode run over two sessions, I should grab the opportunity when I can to run the bigger episodes in one day.

My aim is to not have characters pop in and out throughout the course of an episode. This makes it harder to solve the problems if a player has only been there for half of the episode, and it makes it harder on me too. Unfortunately it's still not quite working out because people get to the game late or leave early, which is not as prevalent therefore not as bad but still annoying.

In this episode we have an "old Vulcan friend" ask one of the characters to help another Vulcan find a Romulan outcast on one of the border worlds. Since this wasn't a regular Starfleet mission, anybody could lead so I wanted one of the other characters to lead. My original choice, Shannon, had to work so that left two people. Pick had to leave early so he was out, that left Woo who graciously agreed to be the Vulcan's old buddy. Also present were Fulton and later Donald who got there late and missed a few important clues.
