"Would you be
a dear and do that Kat?"
"I was being facetious."
"I wasn't."
Just then the Cardassian ship turned it's attention on the ~Quilca~.
It's initial barrage punched through the shield and breached the hull.
Most of the air, as well as a few other things, were sucked out of the
hole before an emergency force field was established.
"We've lost most of our propulsion. Heading for Aldos," grimly reported
Venor.
"I think the Cardassian warship is moving off, heading for the
~Fearless~," added John.
"Uh, the Lieutenant was blown out of the shuttle," commented Katrina.
"That's probably going to dock our score," remarked John.
For a crash landing, it wasn't as disastrous as it could have been. The
shuttle was an almost total loss, but everyone had come through more or
less intact.
"How is Commander Zakarian?" asked Serin, taking charge of the
situation.

"He's stable,
but unconscious," replied Krystal. "He'll need better medical aid soon."
"Not from ~Fearless~ will aid come," added Gonar. "Respond to my
transmissions, they do not."
"They are probably too busy with the Cardassians," postulated Serin.
"Destroyed it will be, stranded will we become. Can only die or fail."
"Pull yourself together Gonar. It's not like you to give up so easily."
"Krystal is right. We must gather what we can and leave this site
before a Cardassian search party finds us."
It took the trio the better part of an hour to scavange a few meager
supplies from the ~Gulliver~ and to make a stretcher for Commander
Zakarian.
"We'll make our way to the Federation science station," declared Serin.
"Assuming it's still operational."
"There is no other course to follow at this point."
I'll take the point," volunteered Krys.
"Crack shot you not be," observed Gonar.
"Well, I'm not that strong. You two will have to carry the Commander."
