Hondo (1953) [/] John Wayne western where he plays half-Apache scout Hondo Lane who wander horseless into a remote farm where he befriends Angie Lowe (Geraldine Page) and her son Johnny (Lee Aaker). Her farmstead is in danger from the Apaches who are getting ready to go on a warpath and her husband has been "mining" for months. A bit of an attraction between the gruff, honest, practical Hondo and the hardworking farmsteader Angie who believes the Apaches will leave her alone like they've always done… Not a bad film.
The Sound of Your Heart 1.1/1.2 (2016) [-] South Korean comedy series of 20 15-minute parts (on Netflix organized as 10 30-minute episodes). Jo Seok (Lee Kwang-soo) wants to be a Webtoon artist and lives with his brother and mom and dad. Lots of goofy situations (e.g. he pretends to run away and hides out in a wardrobe at their home). I found the main characters annoying and this is not the kind of comedy I like — a lot of embarrassing situations. Wanted to see Jung So-min, who plays the leads girlfriend but it’s a small role — 4 of the 20 mini-episodes feature her and she appears a bit in a few more.
iOS Game - Missile Command: Recharged (2020) [+] Reviewed this 3-1/2 years before. Haven't played it in a long time and recently started playing again. It's still quite fun and runs great on my 2017 iPad Pro (stuck at iOS 17) even though it hasn't been updated in four years. It's free a few games per day or $3 in-app for unlimited games per day.
Warped Kart Racers (2022) [/] Apple Arcade go-kart racing and battle game using characters from animated tv shows Family Guy, American Dad!, King of the Hill, and Solar Opposites. Plays smoothly with a controller (harder with touch since there are multiple controls) and graphics are good. Not really my type of game as there are a lot of things going on so a but of information overload.
Trader Joe’s Golden Rounds Crackers [+] This is TJ’s version of Ritz crackers which I do kind of love when I eat them but usually don’t bother buying. Maybe a little less buttery but otherwise tastes the same. I think it was like $3 or $4 for a box with four stacks of crackers so cheaper than Ritz.
New Lai Wah, Sacramento [/] Went here for dinner with parents and kids. Low price I think even low for the area (I think it's in unincorporated land so not so much a sketchy area as one that's not built up but not rural). Pretty much American-style Chinese food and everything tasted fine. Would be fine going there again.
