After studying
the probe (while the monster gets closer and closer) the players find
out that it is a key to get inside the Planet Killer. An away party is
formed with representatives from all three sides. Once inside the
Planet Killer it's a matter of figuring out the controls. Treachery is
but a stones' throw away as the Romulans try to capture the Planet
Killer for the Star Empire. O'Flaherty though double crosses everyone
and locks up both the Federation and Romulan away teams. Now it's up to
the players to declare a temporary truce, break out of their cell, and
retake the Planet Killer from O'Flaherty and their Romulan "allies".
Well, that's how the episode was supposed to run. First off, after
almost getting their ship destroyed in the last episode, my players had
no ship to use. Since only Krystal, Clancy, and Venor were present I
decided to base the adventure around Bonus Run. Toora Delfi invites
Krystal and her friends to spend some time on his planet. On the way
(in a standard shuttle -- for some reason some characters are afraid of
the Captain's Yacht) they receive the distress signal and go to
O'Flaherty's aid.
Once they save the ship (by merely getting it out of the way of the
Planet Killer as the monster is simply heading to the next system to
munch on) Venor goes aboard to help fix the engines. Naturally Venor
takes the opportunity to scan the merchantman and discovers a shielded
cargo room. He also finds out that a couple of Vulcans are travelling
on the ship. A good deal of time is spent trying to get into the cargo
room and trying to talk to the Vulcans.

By then a
Romulan Warbird arrives, commanded by Major Sela. Clancy and Krystal
cooperate and give her all the data they have so far. A while later
everyone is on board the freighter as the Romulans beam in to
commandeer the probe. The Vulcans it turns out are a Vulcan and Telan
Merek, whom Clancy and Krystal met in episode 601. The Vulcan is a
member of the Unification Movement and Telan is taking him over to meet
with Senator Jolan Merek about the plague ravashing some Romulan
worlds. Krystal thinks that they're in cahoots with Sela and gives them
away. Sela arrests them both and transports them to her ship.
A firefight breaks out. Clancy manages to seal himself off in the cargo
room with the probe. He then proceeds to punch a hole in the hull so
that the probe is sucked out into space. The Romulans retreat back to
their ship. Clancy and Venor take the shuttle and use it to kick the
probe into the Planet Killer, which destroys it and then goes inert.
With nothing left to gain the Romulans depart. Well, not the way the
adventure was supposed to go but they mostly got things accomplished.
