- Wanted to make sure my RapidWeaver Classic subscription was cancelled. They don’t make it easy to find. Eventually had to search on Duck Duck Go which took me to a RealMac Subscription FAQ page. This points you to the Account Management login (enter email, they send you a link) and from there go to Subscriptions tab and cancel if need be. A bit of a dark pattern there as most web sites have a link to your account page form the home page or a way to get to it from the app.
Sun Nov 23 2025
Sleep 0400 to 0845, 0945 to 1100 (6 hours)
- Yesterday MW5 for DS and I then DDO adding DW as CSr missed.
Mon Nov 24 2025
Sleep 0400 to 1100 (7 hours)
- I had forgotten you can disable macOS Autocorrect. And actually from the Input Sources Edit screen I disabled auto-capitalize, predictive text, period replacing double space, and everything else. I’m too old and set in my ways.
Tue Nov 25 2025
Sleep 0130 to 1030 (9 hours)
- Shower drain was very slow today but seemed fine last time I showered. Guess I’ll look more into it when I get back after Thanksgiving. Hopefully whatever clog there is is on my pipe because if it’s in common I’m afraid people above me might flood my master bath.
Wed Nov 26 2025
Sleep 0030 to 0915 (8-3/4 hours)
- Drove to mom and dad's. Started at 1100 and got there at 1400 -- an extra hour because a fair amount of traffic. I should have left earlier but I was sluggish this morning.
- Mom fell last night going down the stairs with the vacuum cleaner. It was a few steps and then the wall where the stars turn. She twisted her knee and then fell again doing more cleaning with her walker.
Thu Nov 27 2025
Sleep 2345 to 0845 (9 hours)
- Thanksgiving dinner: turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans, apple pie.
Fri Nov 28 2025
Sleep 0345 to 1015 (6-1/2 hours)
- Dad, CSr and Steph took mom to urgent care as she wanted to get x-rays. She broke a bone (crumpled down so it's a more stable break) and may be weeks to heal. We'll call her primary care physician on Monday and get an appointment.
- In the meantime I'll be staying over at mom and dad's at least this coming week. I brought two changes of underwear and a couple of books for the Thanksgiving holiday so it's not too bad for me. Did forget my AirPods Pro and the noise cancellation is no nice here since Dad keeps the tv on fairly loud.
- Ordered an iPad Air 11" M3, Wi-Fi, 256 GB from Amazon. On sale $550+tax. My iPad Pro 10.5" is now 8y2m old so I hope this Air will be useful for four years and ok for another couple more years.
- Did not get the keyboard cause that's like $300 with tax. Let's see how I like it without the keyboard, which with my iPad Pro the keyboard part died early but using it as a stand is quite nice.
Netflix for Oct/Nov 2025
Nov 27 2025
I watched:
Bon Appétit, Your Majesty (2025) - K-Drama
Doom at Your Service (2021) - K-Drama
Love Between Fairy and Devil (2022) - C-Drama
The First Frost (2025) - C-Drama
Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance (2024) - anime
Mobile Suit Gundam Seed (2002) - anime
A House of Dynamite (2025) - movie
Of which I think The First Frost had the best overall story and Love Between Fairy and Devil was the least good though still ok.

Salvage Union Bundle
Nov 25 2025
This is a $20 set price bundle for Salvage Union, a "post-apocalyptic SFRPG from Leyline Press about ragtag pilots who scour the ruined wasteland in scrap-built mechs."
It's based on Quest RPG which is perhaps too light a system.
I do like that you can create fairly customized Mechs: "Start with one of 30 different chassis, then customize your mech to your exact tastes, choosing from 150 hardware systems (lasers, dozer blades, torpedos that burrow) and modules (scramblers, neuralinks, Hull Magnetizers). Your pilot is no slouch either; even outside the cockpit, your Advanced and Legendary Abilities help when you get into a (ahem) scrap. Just keep an eye on your mech’s Heat, or you might melt down."
You get
I like that it's the rules and three mini-campaigns. I guess the system is light enough I can port it to GURPS (or at least my stripped-down version of GURPS). Maybe using BattleTech for Mech action.
I like Mechs and this game sounds interesting.

- False Flag (72 pages, $16.50) - "An expansive sandbox environment covering ive regions of the Northern Wastes and Frozen Gulf, developed to fill 10-15 sessions and designed to permit multiple potential endings"
- Rainmaker (84 pages, $16.50) - "A journey across seven forgotten regions of the Oceanic Rim, designed to fill 10-15 sessions."
- We Were Here First (80 pages, $16.50) - "19 unique areas to explore, designed to fill 10-15 sessions."

Mon Nov 17 2025
Sleep 0400 to 1300 (9 hours)
Tue Nov 18 2025
Sleep 0300 to 1030 (7-1/2 hours)
Wed Nov 19 2025
Sleep 2345 to 0530, 2-1/4 hour nap (8 hours)
Thu Nov 20 2025
Sleep 0100 to 0830 (7-1/2 hours)
Fri Nov 21 2025
Sleep 0300 to 1100 (8 hours)
Sleep 0330 to 1100, 1 hr nap (8-1/2 hours)
- Gaming at Dave and Sophia’s. We finished B10 although I didn’t give Corina and CJr enough screen time.
- Dinner at Premier Pizza. It’s a thick pizza (i.e. lots of bread) but good.
Sun Nov 16 2025
Sleep 0200 to 0845, 1h nap (7-3/4 hours)
- QB Brock Purdy is back and the 49ers win 41-22 at Arizona.
Mon Nov 17 2025
Sleep 0400 to 1300 (9 hours)
- Tried Apple’s Digital ID again. Before I wasn’t moving my phone closer and farther enough so that it could find the passport page. This time I realized that my passport photo is me a lot younger without glasses. The Digital ID process requires me to place the phone arms length away and do certain head motions as directed (e.g. turn head right) except that the directions are too far away without glasses so I bring the phone closer to read which then makes it start over.
Tue Nov 18 2025
Sleep 0300 to 1030 (7-1/2 hours)
- When I woke up TP-Link router said Internet connection wasn’t working. Rebooted router, then Fiber ONT. Then tried connecting directly to the ONT and that worked. Then plugged Ethernet back into router and that finally worked.
- DDO Symphony of the Fey starts tomorrow and runs to Feb 03 2026. Kind of like the lantern event they had last year: equip a shield cosmetic, play your lute when you see a sound emote, kill the resulting monsters for lute xp and if you max your late you get a special cosmetic. Guess I’ll try it on hardcore with a new character. I like that in hardcore you can only use equipment dropped in quests otherwise there is big debuff.
Wed Nov 19 2025
Sleep 2345 to 0530, 2-1/4 hour nap (8 hours)
- Apple TV will continue hosting Friday Night Baseball through 2028, which is just continuing the contract they agreed to a few years ago.
- C3 Dinner. Pho Little Saigon. I got a pork with vermicelli dish and it also came with two fried egg rolls (meat filled not vegetarian). Was pretty good. $18.
Thu Nov 20 2025
Sleep 0100 to 0830 (7-1/2 hours)
- Godzilla Voxel Wars for free on Epic Games Store today looks a lot like Into the Breach, a game I really liked.
Fri Nov 21 2025
Sleep 0300 to 1100 (8 hours)
- MechWarrior 5 first DS and I then CSr’s campaign.
Outgunned Bundle
Nov 20 2025
Bundle of Holding's Outgunned Bundle has the cinematic RPG and some supplements. Its system is the same as for Household RPG which I own.
"Outgunned features a game system called Director's Cut that uses small pools of six-sided dice to determine the outcome of the Heroes' actions. When rolling dice, your goal is not to score the highest or lowest possible number, but to roll two-, three-, and four-of-a-kind."
Outgunned (224 pages, $24) - if same as Household then probably digest-sized pages
Action Flicks v1 (208 pages, $14)
Action Flicks v2 (208 pages, $14) - each volume describes several movie genres with "mission prompts, new Roles and Tropes, new Enemies and Enemy Feats, a dedicated Hero Sheet, and a Hero ready for action"
Outgunned Adventure (260 pages, $19) - "Outgunned Adventure is a standalone roleplaying game, compatible with Outgunned, inspired by pulp adventure movies like the Indiana Jones series and The Mummy (1999)."
World of Killers (208 pages, $14) - "World of Killers is an expansion for Outgunned inspired by the John Wick films, Kill Bill, Assassin's Creed, and Hitman."
Project Medusa (68 pages, $7.50) - mini-campaign. "Betrayed by their informer, the Heroes chase a plane and sneak aboard, but everything explodes mid-air…"
Fall of Atlantis (64 pages, $7.50) - mini-campaign. "Professor Wieloch sends the adventurers into frozen Greenland to search for the tomb of Viking explorer Erik the Red…"
Not sure this is worth $26 for me. I guess I want more "setting + mini-campaign" books. As it is only Outgunned and the two mini-campaigns are of immediate interest.

Fri Nov 14 2025
Sleep 0100 to 1000 (9 hours)
Sleep 0130 to 1000 (8-1/2 hours)
- Saw Tron: Ares with CSr. I liked it. Cool graphics on a big screen.
- Dinner at No.5 House which is soft opening at the corner spot that several other restaurants have died at. They’re only taking half the space so maybe that makes rent manageable. Anyways it’s Chinese comfort food and was pretty good.
- DDO we did the three preliminary Red Fens adventures. I forgot you still only get non-epic upgradeable stuff so next time we can skip Epic. But they are level 21 quests and we’re only level 23.
Sun Nov 09 2025
Sleep 0145 to 0900 (7-1/4 hours)
- 49ers lost at home to LA Rams and are now 6-4 which is not bad considering their many injuries.
Mon Nov 10 2025
Sleep 0300 to 1100 (8 hours)
- We’re doing bulk pickup which includes one E-Waste item like a computer or monitor. I got rid of my Drobo.
Tue Nov 11 2025
Sleep 0300 to 1115 (8-1/4 hours)
- With iOS 26.1 you can now add your US passport to Apple Wallet. I tried it but the scanner didn’t recognize the photo page so wouldn’t take a picture (there is no button it just does it automatically like a scanner app).
Wed Nov 12 2025
Sleep 0130 to 0900 (7-1/2 hours)
- C3 dinner. Porridge and Things.
Thu Nov 13 2025
Sleep 0030 to 0800, 30 nap. (8 hours)
- Power outage this morning about 0815 to 0915. Rather stormy this morning.
- Apple TV subscribers will get Major League Soccer games for free in 2026. It’ll be rough if I try watching all the games. Also wondering if they’ll up the cost of Apple TV to compensate.
Fri Nov 14 2025
Sleep 0100 to 1000 (9 hours)
- Gloomhaven we got an artifact quest done in like 2+ hours going rather slowly. It was get the artifact then get to the exit and it was four rooms including a long hallway so Dave S and I were rather low on cards at the end (and he exhausted).
Over the Edge Bundles
Nov 13 2025
Over the Edge 2E is a resurrected bundle. $20+ for
AG-2002 Over the Edge 2E (1997, $20)
AG-2010 Players' Survival Guide (1993, $10) - char gen and game mechanics from rulebook + new stuff
AG-2103 Unauthorized Broadcast (1993, $3) - adventure
AG-2151 Forgotten Lives (1997, $10) - six adventures
AG-2300 Wildest Dreams (1993, $7) - sourcebook of dreams and nightmares
AG-2301 Weather the Cuckoo Likes (1994, $10) - a PC organization? With two adventures.
AG-2302 Friend or Foe? (1994, $8) - 34 NPCs
AG-2303 Cloaks (1998, $10) - secret agents sourcebook
AG-2304 At Your Service (2001, $10) - three dozen locations, each with NPCs and plots
Warped Adventures: Invasion ($2) - adventure
Pierced Heart ($8) - novel
This is a mix of 1E and 2E stuff and some items are missing.
Over the Edge 3E is new and $13 set price for
AG-2003 Over the Edge 3E Rulebook (2019, $20)
AG-2152 Welcome to the Island (2019, $15) - four adventures
Sounds from the Edge v1 to v3 ($15) - sound tracks
Which I guess is everything that came out for third edition (2019).
Overall not a compelling bundle. I'd have considered it if it was all 1E and 2E items even if the setting and system I'm not really interested in.

Covered California Options
Nov 11 2025
Now that I'm officially off Medi-Cal I can go to Covered CA and look up my options. All these options assume I'm getting: $1 CA Credit and up to $1172 APTC (Federal government aid).
I guess Blue Cross and Blue Shield merged in 1982 though still two different brands.
Blue Shield of California was created in 2019 and HQ in Oakland and is a non-profit (though as of 2014 California declared them a tax-paying nonprofit due to how they handle their money). California Healthcare Quality Report Card 2009 rates them 3/4.
Blue Cross is actually now Elevance Health which operates in multiple states, HQ in Indiana, is a publicly traded for-profit company, and rated 3/4 in 2014 by Caliofrnia's state patient advocacy office.
Kaiser Permanente is a really large HMO based in Oakland, operates 40 hospitals and 614 medical facilities, and has 12.6 million members. Kaiser Foundation Health Plan is non-profit while the medical groups are for-profit. If you are using Kaiser you are going to their branded hospitals and medical facilities and they're large enough that you're always going to be in their system.
CCHP was created by San Francisco Chinese Hospital. I'm assuming most of their coverage is around the Bay Area though I looked at one of their maps and they go to Sacramento area too. Hard to tell how many members they have — I saw 12k at one of their web sites which is small compared to the other three but I remember Oracle had it's own self-funded health plan back when they were 30k employees worldwide.
Kaiser has a medical center in Redwood City. CCHP partners with Dignity Health hospital also in Redwood City. Both have been renovated in the last 20 years.
Right now leaning towards Kaiser as the least cost plans ($0 monthly currently but APTC may be going away because our current Federal government hates publicly subsidized health care). Mom and dad use it — I asked them and mom said it was ok. Steph said one of her friends uses Kaiser and loves it and she also said if you know how to navigate their system it's fine.
So now I have to dig deeper into the three Kaiser options.
Addendum: I did briefly look at Sutter Health Plan. If APTC goes away and I have to pay full then I'd rather be with Sutter Health. But it is a bit more expensive: Platinum $1521, Gold $1283, Silver $1227, Bronze $1028.

Sleep a couple of hours
- Visiting mom and dad. Commuted there with CSr so he could set up their new PC.
- We went to Golden Hotpot Lounge for lunch. Was a lot of food.
- Won ton soup for dinner.
- DDO. We did Belly of the Beast at Elite. First two VoN at R4.
Sun Nov 02 2025
Sleep 0200 to 0830, 1 hour nap, 1 hour nap in car (8-1/2 hours)
- Costco Har Gow and Dad’s Jook (rice porridge) for brunch.
- Left at 1130 and got back about 1430.
- Checked Marvel Strike Force alliance and realized pretty much all the regulars left. Deleted the app. I went from level 35 to almost 100 and got about 15 characters to level 85.
- Tried to get Strange Adventures in Infinite Space running. The macOS Lion version just quits so it must be too old. The Windows 98 version I installed on CrossOver and it runs ok occasionally but usually keyboard/mouse is not working and it takes over all the displays.
Mon Nov 03 2025
Sleep 0200 to 1030 (8-1/2 hours)
- Monterra insert reminds me that current 30Y fixed rate home mortgage is 6.375% and even a 5/5 ARM is 5.625% Not as bad as the 1980’s.
Tue Nov 04 2025
Sleep 0330 to 1100 (7-1/2 hours)
- Apple App Store now on the web. Mostly useful to me in that before an app link would go to a page that immediately tries to redirect to App Store App so I tended to avoid posting those links. Now a link goes to a stable web page.
- BTW it’s weird that clicking on the link from Apple Notes goes to App Store app on my Mac rather than going to the web browser. Sometimes Apple tries to be a bit too clever with what they think you want instead of doing the obvious thing that I want.
Wed Nov 05 2025
Sleep 0145 to 1015 (8-1/2 hours)
- Library to get more books.
- Star Smog San Mateo for smog check.
- Trader Joe’s for snacks.
- Dinner at C3’s. Taishoken - Tokyo Classic Aburasoba.
Thu Nov 06 2025
Sleep 0430 to 1130 (7 hours)
- The rare Apple TV outage (you can check on Apple’s System Status page). It happened just as I stopped one video to start another so I thought it was a problem with my computer.
Fri Nov 07 2025
Sleep 0130 to 0715, 1200 to 1330 (7-1/4 hours)
- MechWarrior 5 with Dave S’s instance. In one missions we stuck around to kill more enemy forces for bonus payment and salvage. But pushed it a bit too far and got two of our Mechs destroyed. I died a few seconds before Dave W got into the pickup zone.
Image Comics in the 90's Bundle
Nov 06 2025
Humble Bundle's Image Comics in the 90's Bundle is rather Spawn heavy as that was their main title back then. $18 gives you:
Battle Chasers v1 (2011) - "Collects Battle Chasers: Prelude (1998) and Battle Chasers (1998-2001) #1-9." Though apparently issues #10-12 were published in 2023.
Lady Pendragon v1 (2015) - collects v1 #1 (one-shot, 1996), v2 #0-3 (1998). I guess not a successful comic.
Mage: The Hero Discovered v1 and v2 - I'm not sure these are part of the TPB series with v3 (below). v1 says issues 1-4. v2 description doesn't specify. But
Mage v3 (2017) - "Book 2: The Hero Defined: Part 1 of 2" The first half of Mage: The Hero Defined (1998) 16 issues.
Rising Stars v1 and v2 (2000) - Rising Stars (1999) #1-16. Note there are three more volumes in this TPB series.
Savage Dragon Ultimate Collection v1 to v3 (2022) - The Savage Dragon (1992 1st Series) #1-3 and The Savage Dragon (1993- 2nd Series) #1-35 and material from WildC.A.T.s Covert Action Teams (1992-1998 Image) #14.
Spawn Origins v1 - v6, v8 - v20 (of 31) (2009-) - Why not v7? These volumes collect Spawn (1992) #1-38, 45-122.
The Complete Witchblade v1 and v2 (2020) - "Witchblade (1995-2015) #1-19, The Darkness (1996-2001 1st Series) #9-10, Tales of the Witchblade (1996) Wizard 1/2, and Tales of the Witchblade (1996) #3." + "Collects Witchblade (1995-2015) #20-36, Tales of the Witchblade (1996) #4-8, Witchblade Infinity (1999), Witchblade/The Darkness Special (1999), The Darkness/Witchblade (1999), and The Darkness (1996-2001 1st Series) #28." There are two more volumes.
The Complete Darkness v1 and v2 (2021) - "The Darkness (1996-2001 1st Series) #1-18,Tales of the Darkness (1998) #1-4, Tales of the Darkness (1999) Wizard 1/2, Darkness Prelude (1996 1st Series), Witchblade (1995-2015) #10 and 18-19." + "The Darkness (1996-2001 1st Series) #19-40, Witchblade (1995-2015) #36, Witchblade vs. Darkness (1997 Wizard 1/2) (STORIES 1 & 2), Witchblade/Darkness Special (1999), and Darkness/Witchblade (1999)." There is one more volume
Astro City Metrobook v1 and v2 (2022) - "Astro City (1995 1st Series) #1-6, Astro City (1996-2000 2nd Series) #1-12, and Astro City (1996) 1/2." + "Astro City (1996-2000 2nd Series) #13-22; Astro City: Local Heroes (2003) #1-5; Astro City Special (2004), material from 9-11 TPB (2002 DC) Vol. 2; and Astro City: A Visitor's Guide (2004)." There are four more volumes.
Complete Cyberforce (2022) - "Cyberforce (1992 1st Series) #0-4, WildCATs Covert Action Teams (1992-1998) #5-7, Cyberforce (1993-1997 2nd Series) #1-13, Cyberforce Origins (1995) #1-2, and Cyberforce (1993) Annual #1."
The Tellos Saga (2023) - "Tellos (1999 Image) #1-10, Tellos (1999) Prologue DF Exclusive, Tellos (1999) Prelude Exclusive, Tellos TPB (2001-2002) Vol. 1-2, and Tellos (2001 Image) Ashcan."
In and of itself not that interesting. Complete Witchblade v1 and v2 overlaps what I have (I have Witchblade main series only). Same for Complete Darkness since I have main series #1-40. Everything else would be new but I was never a Spawn fan.
Actually I guess I'm only interested in Lady Pendragon and maybe Battle Chasers which are both in the $1 level.
Battle Chasers v1 (2011) - "Collects Battle Chasers: Prelude (1998) and Battle Chasers (1998-2001) #1-9." Though apparently issues #10-12 were published in 2023.

Cthulhu Reborn Bundle
Nov 04 2025
Bundle of Holding's Cthulhu Reborn Bundle is based on the RPG that uses an open rules set compatible with Call of Cthulhu's d100 system and Mythos-based world based on public domain IP so no Chaosium-created stuff.
Total retail $43.50.
H.P. Lovecraft's Book of Yog-Sothothery (187 pages, $13) - "includes game descriptions of 40 Lovecraftian Entities (Gods & Monsters), 21 Unnatural Rituals described by Lovecraft, 8 Bizarre Artifacts, 14 Tomes holding terrible Mythos secrets, 8 sinister Cults with Mythos associations, and 8 Weird Places. Each entity has game statistics appropriate to the role they're likely to play in a game."
Jazz Age Investigations (adventures)
Cthulhu Eternal SRDs (these are all PWYW)
Total retail $43.50
Historical Investigations
Modern Era Investigations
Kevin A Ross Scenarios
This bundle is all adventures so that's great even if half are set outside CoC's 1920's base setting. Compatible with CoC (pre-7E) and fitting into the Cthulhu Mythos genre also great. Not that expensive a bundle — high price for a Bundle of Holding bundle is low $40s. Rather tempted to buy.

Sleep 0345 to 1030 (6-3/4 hours)
- Tonight we played DDO. DS was late so the rest of us did 5 Night Revels quests to get the new Sentient Jewel of the Black Abbot (the easiest new item to get). When DS joined we did The Portal Opens at R3 and it was fairly easy.
Sun Oct 26 2025
Sleep 0500 to 1000, 1330 to 1630 (8 hours)
- 49ers lost and are now 5-3. QB Brock Purdy was injured after the first game or two and it’s been QB Mac Jones doing a competent job.
Mon Oct 27 2025
Sleep 0445 to 1000, 1h nap (6-1/4 hours)
- Foot started hurting this morning and looks a bit swollen. Will try Advil every 4 hours and no meat today and then see if it’s worse tomorrow.
Tue Oct 28 2025
Sleep 0000 to 0845 (8-3/4 hours)
- macOS Tahoe can’t open my old Official.dmg where I keep sensitive data. It’s a really old DMG format probably. Luckily I still have my Mac mini so I opened it there then copied the contents out and put them in a new disk image.
- Vortex tech came by and replaced our front door’s door closer so that it will now can’t be locked open.
Wed Oct 29 2025
Sleep 2345 to 0800 (8-1/4 hours)
- C3+S dinner. Corina made chili and corn bread, lots of meat so I only had one bowl.
Thu Oct 30 2025
Sleep 0630 to 1400 (7-1/2 hours)
- Couldn’t sleep last night so I stayed up and wrote the operating budget cover letter. Probably not my best work given the lateness of the hour and maybe I should have waited a day and reviewed it again but instead I finished it and sent it to our management company so they can print it out and send it to all owners.
Fri Oct 31 2025
Sleep 0000 to 0800 (8 hours)
- Gloomhaven. Got a Spellweaver story mission done.
